CCMES Merry Market Celebrates Entrepreneurship and Art

CCMES recently hosted its annual Merry Market, a long-standing school tradition that has been part of the campus culture for more than 15 years.

Students in grades 3 through 5 put on their entrepreneur hats and designed their own booths, creating and selling a wide variety of items. Booths featured baked goods, decorated snacks, repurposed stuffed animals, holiday ornaments, magnets, and even a student-designed “claw booth.” Students were able to work independently or partner with classmates to bring their ideas to life.

The event created a shared experience for students and families, with many families supporting students throughout the planning and creation process. The Merry Market was held alongside the CCMES Art Show, allowing families to view student artwork displayed throughout the school. A scavenger hunt encouraged families to explore the artwork on the walls.

All grade levels participated by visiting classrooms to solve math puzzles and games, earning “Spires or Desrosiers Bucks” that could then be used to purchase items at the market. Students also had the opportunity to enter a raffle to win art supplies.

A big thank you to Pretty Odd Wieners for joining the event with their food truck and generously donating the proceeds back to CCMES. The Merry Market continues to be a long-standing tradition that highlights creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning while bringing the school community together.
