Their Media Specialist, Joylyn Phillips, organized a variety of activities to celebrate, including recruiting guest readers for Drop Everything and Read Hour. One special guest was Roo, Valerie Wilkinson’s certified Canine Good Citizen, who helped share stories with students and brought plenty of tail-wagging excitement to campus. Roo often visits PHES so students can read to him, creating a calm and encouraging space for budding readers.

The celebration didn’t stop there—second graders brought their favorite characters to life in a colorful and creative book parade, thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Cawley and Mrs. Sullivan. The halls were full of storybook magic as students proudly showcased their literary favorites. It was a week full of imagination, connection, and the love of reading!
