Middle School Musicians Represent DCSD at All-State Conference and Festival
Hailey Sebahar

Students from Pau-Wa-Lu and Carson Valley middle schools represented Douglas County School District at the Nevada Music Educators Association All-State Conference and Festival in Las Vegas this January.

“Our hard-working students were able to work with well-known composers and conductors, attend rehearsals, and perform a concert,” said Pau-Wa-Lu music teacher Angela Goff. “It’s always an amazing experience for the students as they get to make music with the best musicians from throughout the state.”

Carson Valley Middle School music teacher Dr. Janet Levine added, “Students adapted to different rehearsal styles, built new friendships, and handled long rehearsal sessions with dedication and grit. Beyond the hard work, they also enjoyed moments with friends, making the experience both enriching and memorable.”

At the end of the weekend, students performed to a sold-out audience, showcasing their talent and representing DCSD with pride.
