MES Wraps Up First Semester of Minden Marvelous Mondays (3M)
Hailey Sebahar

MES’s Minden Marvelous Mondays (3M) program gave students the opportunity to explore new interests through hands-on learning experiences this semester.

Students had a variety of choices for their 3M class. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade learners had the option of participating in photography, cooking, gardening, crafts, yoga, karaoke, robotics, STEM, color exploration, and reader's theater. 3rd, 4th and 5th graders had the option of participating in art, dance, drama, games, lego robotics, kindness rocks, outdoors and walking, as well as 3D printing and basketball. Students felt empowered, prepared, inspired, and connected to others in our school by participating in the hands-on experiences they had during their 3M class.

One highlight was Principal Andrew Fromdahl’s basketball class, where students learned the fundamentals of the game. To cap off the experience, they visited Douglas High School, met and played with the varsity basketball team and Coach Thacker, and attended the game that evening—many for the first time. Special thanks to Mr. Thacker, Mr. Senger, and Mr. Rechs for making this event possible.

Another standout 3M class was third-grade teacher Jana Davison’s 3D printing group, where students designed and created their own 3D models. They showcased their final projects to the rest of the school, demonstrating creativity and innovation in action.

These unique learning experiences continue to make 3M Mondays an exciting new tradition at MES!
