DHS Metalworking Certifications

Over the weekend, five DHS Metalworking students took part in an intensive two-day, 16-hour American Welding Society (AWS) Weld Qualification Seminar at Reed High School.
Sponsored by Western Nevada College (WNC), the seminar offered 15 students from Fallon, Fernley, and Douglas the chance to practice and test for AWS welding certifications. The students from Douglas shined, with four of the five earning their first welding certification.
"We appreciate the Reed High School Metalworking for hosting and WNC for sponsoring this great event. We look forward to more Douglas Metalworking and Welding students taking advantage of this great opportunity," said Mr. McDonald, DHS Welding.
