DHS secured the title at the Northern Nevada Academic Olympic Championship this month. Under the guidance of team captain Liam W., a seasoned participant in his fourth year, DHS defeated Reno High in the Finals and Manogue in the Semi Finals. Liam W. remarked, "It's a lot of Trivia, which is fun. My strengths are in geography, history, and current events, while Cristian excels in music because he likes to play. Carlo is our go-to for literature, and Ender excels in science and math. Each of us brings something special to the table."

Katie Jensen, their academic coach and a Social Studies teacher at DHS, said, "All of our team members are incredibly skilled in a wide range of subjects, and participate in advanced classes. They each have their own niche areas of expertise, which brings a valuable balance to our team. This year, the team that won had a significant number of seniors who not only brought a lot of experience but had also competed before."

The club practices every Tuesday at lunch, where the team, consisting of two groups of seven, sharpened their trivia and buzzer skills.

Congrats Academic Olympic Team!
