Last month, 35 students from PWLMS, CVMS, DHS, and ASPIRE had the chance to take part in a Work-Based Learning experience at the 8th Annual Construction Career Day in Reno.
The event, hosted by Washoe County School District’s Career and Technical Education Department, brought together more than 2,000 middle and high school students from across Northern Nevada. Students got hands-on experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, pipe fitting, masonry, welding, and heavy equipment operation. They also connected with professionals from engineering and architecture firms, public works agencies, and local education programs to learn about high-wage, high-demand career paths in the construction industry.
Thank you to Washoe County School District for welcoming DCSD students and giving them the opportunity to explore future careers in construction!
