DAWG assembly at CVMS
Hailey Sebahar

Yesterday, the Douglas Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) alongside Douglas County Animal Services visited Carson Valley Middle School, inspiring our community about ways they can contribute to animal welfare.

Our students learned about DAWG's essential support for local shelters and their programs that improve the lives of animals in Douglas County.

Ways DCSD families can support DAWG:

DAWG Food Drive:

  • Fancy Feast Kitten Pate
  • Dry Kitten Food: Brands like Iams or Purina Kitten Chow are perfect.
  • Non-Clumping Cat Litter: Essential for the younger kittens.
  • Clumping (Unscented) Cat Litter: For the slightly older kittens.

DAWG’s Got Talent!

  • Tickets are now on sale! Visit their website to learn more and buy your tickets! https://www.dawgrescue.com/dawgs-got-talent
  • When: Saturday, May 18
  • Where: Douglas County Community Center.
  • There will be drinks, a silent auction, dinner, and the main event – a talent show where local performers will compete for “Best in Show”.

Other ways to help DAWG include fostering kittens in need of homes, financial donations, or volunteering your time.
