Guided by their teacher, Mrs. Auld, students worked in teams to explore how to balance individual needs with collective responsibilities, developing ideas that could impact both local and global communities.

A panel of local leaders, including JD Frisby (Minden Town Manager), Sharla Hales (Douglas County Commission Chairwoman), Melinda Gneiting (DCSD Board Trustee - Vice President), Erinn Miller (DCSD Board Trustee - Member), and Jason Carter (DCSD Professional Learning Specialist), listened to the presentations, offering feedback and insights on how these ideas connect to real-world decision-making.

The event was also a great opportunity for 7th graders to practice their presentation skills, building confidence as they shared their research and ideas with an engaged audience.
