Students and their families followed a hand-drawn treasure map through a series of themed literacy stations, collecting snacks, clues, and X marks the spots along the way.

Organized and spearheaded by Noelle Menicucci, the event brought families together for an evening of storytelling, exploration, and fun. “I couldn't do it without the support of the amazing staff at CCMES,” said Menicucci, who has helped make the event a beloved school tradition.

Each classroom offered a different adventure—families played sight word games in the Treasure Chest room, created pirate-themed bookmarks, solved reading puzzles in a sunken ship setting, and explored a dark cave with flashlights while hunting for letters. From pirate goodie bags to book giveaways, every detail was crafted to ignite a love of reading in young learners, one treasure hunt at a time.
