Last Wednesday, DHS Culinary Arts Room 106 was transformed into a culinary battleground as the Argentina Team (Liam M, Brinley G, Ethan M, Brent F.) introduced their Chimichurri Grill, setting the bar high for the start of the "Best DHS Restaurant 2024" competition.
Students Do EVERYTHING: From planning to execution, students are at the heart of this event. Over two days, they design every aspect of their themed restaurant - from an amuse bouche, entree, dessert, and drink to the theme, ambiance, restaurant summary, menu, and even comment cards. This hands-on project not only tests their culinary skills but also their ability to create a comprehensive dining experience.
Every year, DHS Culinary Arts Teacher, Ms. Crofton orchestrates the event, also known as DHS Restaurant Wars, empowering students to take the lead. It's a testament to her commitment to providing real-world culinary experiences within an educational setting.
Limited Dining Experience: Note that there is a 15-person cap on who gets to dine per lunch, making each meal an exclusive event eagerly anticipated by staff and community members.
