Carson Valley Middle School's own Amanda Laca has been honored as the 2024 Nevada History Teacher of the Year by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
This prestigious award, which recognizes exceptional history educators, highlights Mrs. Laca's thirteen years of dedication to teaching history. Known for her engaging and creative lessons, she brings history to life through local landmark visits, historical reenactments, and collaborative projects like the historic walking guide of downtown Gardnerville. As part of this recognition, Mrs. Laca will receive a $1,000 prize and an archive of American history books and educational materials.
