First Day of School Highlights 26/27
Snapshots from the first day of school across our district, capturing key moments as students and staff kick off the new 26-27 school year.
Members of the DCSD Cabinet and Board of Trustees President kicked off their day at DHS before heading out to visit schools across DCSD. Along the way, they spent time in classrooms and had a chance to talk with students, teachers and staff.
First stop: Carson Valley Middle School, where students are arriving from the buses and checking out the new murals around campus.

Mrs. Girdner’s Advisory/Yearbook class is starting the year with their first group chat and getting settled in for the year ahead.
There’s a lot that’s new this year at ASPIRE, including a new home in the historic Heritage Building at 1286 Toler Avenue in Gardnerville.

Principal Mr. Spires and Vice Principal Mrs. Desrosiers wrapped up the day with a school-wide read-aloud of Our School Is a Family. The book introduced students to all the people who help make their school run each day, from teachers and secretaries to parent volunteers.
