Calling all parents/guardians & students! Download the NEW Douglas County School District App for quick access to important news, Infinite Campus, calendars, and links. Find the DCSD Mobile App on GOOGLE PLAY or the APP STORE.

Once the app has loaded on your device, open it and tap the icons on the bottom to navigate the different schools. See below for information on customizing your Douglas County School District app experience.

NAVIGATING THE HOME SCREEN

The home screen is your gateway to the latest updates and essential dates within our district. Here’s how to make the most of it:

Opening the App:
- Upon launching the app, you'll be greeted by the Home screen automatically. This is your main dashboard for quick access to all important information.
District News:
- At the top of the Home screen, find the latest District News. Tap on any story to dive into more details.
- After reading, use the back button located in the upper left corner to return to the Home screen and continue browsing.
Key Dates and Events:
- The Home screen also features Key Dates, Board Meetings, School Breaks, and Holidays, all sourced directly from the district calendar.
- Please note that the app displays a maximum of 12 events at any given time, ensuring you have access to the most immediate and upcoming events.

NEWS SECTION

Open the News Section: Tap on "News" located in the bottom navigation bar to begin.
Select Your Schools:
- Tap on the "Select My Schools" button, which you'll find in a teal color.
- For each school you wish to follow, toggle the switch to the 'On' position. This will ensure you receive updates and news specifically from these schools.
View Articles:
- Return to the News section by tapping "News" to see the updated News feed with articles from your selected schools.
- Tap on any article to read it in full detail and view photos.

SCHOOL CALENDAR FEATURE

Keep track of important school events and schedules with the Calendar feature. Here’s how to navigate and utilize it:

Accessing the Calendar:
- Tap on "Calendar" located in the center of the bottom navigation bar. This action brings up the calendar for your selected school(s), displayed on a weekly basis.
Viewing Events:
- Stay informed about various school activities, from early dismissal days and photo sessions to meetings, tests, and even meal menus.
- To get more details about an event, simply tap on it. This will provide you with all the necessary information regarding that particular event.

The Calendar feature is designed to ensure you never miss out on important school dates and activities, helping you plan your schedule effectively.

SELECT YOUR SCHOOL PREFERENCES

Stay up-to-date with news and calendar events from your chosen schools by selecting and updating your school preferences in the app. Here’s how:

Access School Preferences:
- Tap on “More” located in the bottom right corner of the app.
- At the top of the menu, above "Notifications," select “My Schools” to manage your school selections.
Select Your Schools:
- Browse the list of schools available. For each school you wish to follow, switch the toggle to the ‘On’ position. This action ensures you receive the latest updates and news from these schools.

ACCESSING MEAL MENUS

The meal options you access are tailored to the schools you’ve chosen, making it easy to plan your child’s meals in advance and streamline your morning routine.

Quickly check what's on the menu for breakfast and lunch directly from the Calendar, making mornings easier for busy parents. The menus you see depend on the schools you’ve selected. Here’s how to navigate:

Open the Calendar:
- Tap on "Calendar" in the bottom navigation bar to view events and menus for the week from your selected school(s).
Choosing a Day for Meal Details:
- Find the day you’re interested in and tap on it. Depending on your selected schools, you’ll see options like "ELEMENTARY MEAL MENU" or "HIGH SCHOOL MEAL MENU".
Viewing the Menus:
- After selecting the day, tap on the appropriate meal menu option to quickly see what’s being served for breakfast and lunch.

EXPLORING THE "MORE" OPTION

The "More" section, accessible from the bottom left of the app, serves as a central hub for additional resources and information. Here’s what you can find:

Meal Menus: Direct links to the Meal Menu pages on the website, ensuring you have the latest information on school meal options.
Contacts: A directory of department and school contacts to facilitate easy communication.
Transportation: Information on bus routes, helping parents and students navigate school transportation.
Social Media & Podcast: Links to the district’s social media pages and podcast, keeping you connected and informed.
Employee Resources: Access to Visions, benefits information, and a platform for reporting absences, exclusively for staff.
Board Meetings: Agendas and recordings of board meetings, making it simple to stay updated on district decisions.
Careers: Links to career opportunities and application information, catering to potential employees.
Enrollment: Quick links for enrollment processes, designed to streamline the admission of new students.

The "More" section is designed to provide a comprehensive array of resources, from meal planning and transportation to employment and enrollment, ensuring the school community has easy access to vital information.

STAY UPDATED WITH PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

By activating push notifications, you’ll be the first to know about critical announcements and updates, ensuring you’re always in the loop with the latest school news.

Ensure you never miss out on important updates like snow days, newsletters, and other vital information by turning on your app notifications. Alongside your usual emails and text messages, our app can send you direct push notifications. Here’s how to enable them:

Enable Notifications:
- Within the app, go to the "More" section and click on Notifications. Next to each list, you’ll find a toggle. Turn this toggle on for any category from which you’d like to receive notifications.
- The first time you choose to receive notifications, a system message will confirm your choice, ensuring you’re subscribed to the updates that matter most to you.
View Notifications:
- Notifications for your selected lists will appear on the Notifications screen. Once you have signed up for notifications, you can manage your subscription settings using the gear icon on the Notifications screen or in the Settings section of their device.
Manage Your Subscription:
- If you wish to adjust your notification preferences, you can do so at any time. Use the gear icon on the Notifications screen to manage your subscriptions. Additionally, you can adjust app notification settings directly in the Settings section of your device.
